After having launched in North America earlier this month, Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir is all geared up to be outed in Europe by Nintendo and Tecmo Koei Games. Slated to be made available for the 3DS on June 29, this Survival horror offering makes use of the handheld’s built-in camera to render an augmented reality experience to gamers.
In the title’s story mode, players will be required to use ‘Camera Obscura,’ a mysterious camera that is central to the Project Zero series, to film their actual environment. Mastering this feature will enable them to utilize its powers that will help them expose the mystery behind a strange diary, while also fighting against strange spirits.
This game will come bundled with a special AR book named Purple Diary. It will comprise hidden content on all its pages, which will be explorable through the device’s camera and AR functions. Players will even be able to interact with spirits who would either help or hurt them. And moreover, some spirits will even appear in the real world while they look through the 3DS’ camera.
Apart from a story mode, the game will have extra challenges and mini games on offer. In the Spirit Check mode, players will interact with their own faces while in the Spirit Challenge mode, they will be able to assign attributes like Attack Power, Speed and HP to a pictured face, thus allowing them to fight in a special version of a story mode battle. On the other hand, the Cursed Pages mode contains a collection of games that can be played using the 3DS’ camera.
Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir will be released in Europe for the 3DS on June 29, 2012. It pricing is yet to be confirmed by the publisher.
