GameStop Flags Off Nintendo 3DS Pre-Order

Nintendo 3DS has been under the spotlight ever since the company introduced it at the E3 2010. Back in September, the gaming giant unveiled the hardware’s official Japanese release dates. However, the device’s arrival to North American and European markets has not been formally disclosed yet.

Though several details about the Nintendo 3DS are still under wraps, a post on a NeoGAF forum reveals that GameStop has kicked off the pre-order season for the system across the US. According to the post, those who wish to book the device for themselves will need to visit a GameStop outlet. For reserving their share of the 3DS, gamers are required to ‘drop a minimum of 25 USD’ (approx. Rs. 1,129) on the basis of the place holder price.

Apparently, the reserve price for the imminent handheld console varies from an outlet to another. As the sum of deposit has been differing, it is difficult to gauge the exact price tag which will accompany the device. Nevertheless, an update to the post indicates that if the nearest GameStop store has no clue about the pre-order, players can ask its employees to feed the number ‘020132’ in the SKU field on their computing systems.

The official GameStop website does not offer any details about the pre-order for the Nintendo 3DS. Nonetheless, we are now looking forward to Nintendo’s January 19, 2011 event which will be held in New York City for gaining more insights into the device.
