This week’s release of titles by Nintendo as the Nintendo Download carries just three DSiWare titles, although in past weeks we have seen much more. Touch Solitaire, Jazzy Billiards and Word Searcher come as this week’s helping of downloadable DSi titles for the DSi user.
Touch Solitaire is from Nintendo and for one player. The game features two of the most popular versions of the card game, Spider and Klondike. It has simple touch screen controls and an easy-to-understand interface. Spider has players stacking up cards of the same suit on top of each other from King down to Ace. When all the cards have been cleared, the game is won. In Klondike however, players must arrange cards from Ace to King in piles, one for each suit, on the four foundations. Only when all the cards have been moved to the foundations, you win the game. Touch Solitaire has various difficulties for both variants of solitaire, and is available for 200 Nintendo DSi Points.
Jazzy Billiards is from Aksys Games for either one or two players. It lets you challenge the computer or your friends to a game of traditional 9-ball. The stylus mechanic is made to facilitate easy aiming and shooting. The game’s Stage Mode has nine different stages, each with an opponent of increasing skill level. Try and defeat a maximum number of computers in a row in Challenge Mode or take on a friend in Versus Mode. Jazzy Billiards is available for 500 Nintendo DSi Points.
Word Searcher is the last game made available this week for the DSi system. Published by Digital Leisure, the game features 100 themed word search puzzles and is for one player. The game features words from multiple categories including anatomy, world cities, and US presidents, and is filled with a wide assortment of subjects to choose from. Players can even try and beat their own playthrough times, as words are scrambled each time you play. Word Searcher can be downloaded by redeeming 500 Nintendo DSi Points.
