Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Coming Early Next Year

The end of the journey in Kingdom Hearts II has leased a new beginning in the life of Jiminy Cricket. This new escapade will form the next chapter in the Kingdom Hearts Franchise. Square Enix will release Kingdom Hearts Re:coded in Europe and other PAL territories for the Nintendo DS early next year.

In the new title, Jiminy finds a mysterious message in the journal from his first quest. To explore the secrets behind these notes, gamers will have to commence a new journey with King Mickey in this colorful and amusing world. Integrated with the famous ”˜Deck Command’ system from Birth By Sleep, games can execute more than 100 different commands with a single button for purging bugs who have infested the ”˜datascape’ in the journal.

“The Kingdom Hearts series goes from strength to strength and Re:coded is another smash hit with an intriguing mystery to solve and plenty of fun along the way,” elucidated Larry Sparks, Vice President, Brands, PAL Region of Square Enix.

The game encompasses a range of battle systems such as side-scrolling boss battles, 3D shooting and Command Battles. The fun is further expanded with a New Growth System namely The Stat Matrix. In this system, players will need to place new chips into a circuit board to increase the power and abilities of Sora. Additionally, they can also exchange their avatars and floor maps with friends through the Tag Mode.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded is expected to hit stores on January 14, 2011 for the Nintendo DS in Europe and other PAL territories.
