Mixed Messages Available as DSiWare

The Nintendo DSi has been in the European and North American markets for about a week and the Nintendo Download brings with it, the news of two DSiWare titles. The first DSiWare title this week is strangely, also the first third party game to be released for the handheld system. The second is a title in the Master of Illusion Express series. Check out last week’s DSiWare titles here, which included Bird & Beans, WarioWare: Snapped and others.

Mixed Messages

Mixed Messages is a third party title sure to bring loads of fun and hilarity. The game is not about winning or losing but is all about the miscommunications and misinterpretations that we can make when we take in or process information. In the game, which can be played by two to twenty one players, gamers must express a sentence written by a friend, by drawing a picture, or try to put into words what their friend has drawn.

The game is best enjoyed when played by a fairly large group. First a person must write down a sentence from imagination or allow one to be chosen by the software. Then the device is passed on to the next person who must sketch out the sentence in the form of a picture. The handheld is then passed on to another person who interprets the drawing, giving it a description, and so forth. After the last player’s turn is completed, the game plays back the strip and everyone can have fun and see the huge difference between the initial and final sentence. Mixed Messages can be purchased for 500 Nintendo DSi Points from the Nintendo DSi Shop.

Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games is the second game available as DSiWare this week and lets the user baffle the audience, just as in the other Master of Illusion Express titles. The game makes the audience question how users know exactly what they are thinking. The game is from Nintendo for one player and can be purchase by redeeming 200 Nintendo DSi Points.

The Nintendo DSi features parental controls which allow parents to monitor and have control over the content that their child has access to. Nintendo adds titles for the DSi to the DSi Shop every Monday 9 am PST.
