Nintendo has launched its DSi in America and has opened the Nintendo DSi Shop for users to download games and applications, which include Nintendo DSiWare titles in exchange for DSi Points. The DSiWare for the DSi is an analogous service to the WiiWare for the Wii, and provides DSi users with an ever-increasing library of new content, with new games added every Monday.
The Nintendo Download brings for the Nintendo DSi users, a free internet browser and five DSiWare titles. A little while ago we had reported on the first DSi titles being revealed. These DSiWare titles have all been developed by Nintendo itself.
The Nintendo DSi Browser is available for free at the Nintendo DSi Shop and is powered by Opera. The browser makes use of the device’s double screens and touch functionality very intuitively and can be used to access the internet wherever a wireless internet connection is available.
Bird & Beans is the first game available in the DSiWare section, in which players take control of Pyoro, a bird with an elastic tongue and must collect falling beans. More points are earned for beans collected which are far away and need the tongue to be stretched to a greater degree. The game also has another feature which enables Pyoro to split seeds, which causes more beans to fall down. Bird & Beans is for 1 player and can be purchased for 200 DSi Points.
Master of Illusion Express: Funny Face makes use of the DSi as a prop in a magic act. Users draw a face on the screen using the stylus and the face reveals to the astounded audience which card they picked. The game, which can be purchased for 200 DSi Points, also contains a bonus Vanishing Card trick.
Art Style: Aquia is next among the DSiWare titles. It is for one player and available for 500 DSi Points. The game is a fast-paced puzzle game based underwater, in which players must guide a scuba diver to the ocean floor by matching 3 or more blocks. Players can play against the clock in Timed Dive, or dive as deep as possible in Free Dive or even visit the Aquarium to take a look at various sea creatures.
WarioWare: Snapped is another DSiWare title to be released on the DSi Shop and can be played by one or two players. The game utilizes the DSi’s camera as players take on whacky challenges, hosted by Wario and his buddies, by moving face and body to correspond with traveling on roller coasters. This game can be purchased by redeeming 500 Nintendo DSi Points.
Finally in the DSiWare section is the game Brain Age Express: Math. The game is for one player and is available for 800 DSi Points. Brain Age Express: Math is a continuation of the Brain Age series and focuses on mathematics, including exercises such as Change Maker, Triangle Math, Sum Totaled and Multi Tasker. Also, a new Themes mode is said to include photography, drawing and voice acting challenges.
