Nintendo DSi Revealed, Features Camera

So all those rumors about a new Nintendo DS were true! This year, we had lots of speculations about a new variant of a DS trickling in. The last rumor we heard was that Nintendo would be coming out with a DS that has a camera as well as music playback. It had originated in the Japanese media. Well, that seems to be true!

Now at their Fall Press Conference, Nintendo announced the Nintendo DSi, which is basically a new version of their handheld gaming console. Yes, as we had heard earlier, the DSi will have a camera. Not just any camera, the Nintendo DSi features a .3 megapixel (640×480) camera. One can also transfer the pictures to the Wii!

Also, Nintendo revealed that the DSi will have audio enhancements. So what else can gamers look forward too? The Nintendo DSi will be 12 percent slimmer and the screens will be 17 percent bigger than the Nintendo DS Lite. There will be a built-in browser as well as an SD memory card.

Nintendo DSi is expected to be launched in Japan on November 1, 2008. As expected it will cost less than twenty thousand yen. It will come with a price tag of 18,900 yen (approx. Rs. 8300). GamesIndustry.biz is reporting that Nintendo confirmed to them that Europe may get the Nintendo DSi in spring 2009. Nintendo had revealed other markets would get the new DS by next year.
