The sales chart for the game soared to 3.3 million copies on the very first day of its release. Though the difference between day-one and month-end sales is comparatively lesser, this expansion pack has been receiving rave comments from players across the globe. Subsequent to the advent of Cataclysm, World of Warcraft’s subscriber population has augmented to account for over 12 million global gamers.

“We created thousands of new quests, introduced new lands to explore and extensively revamped the game world for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, making it our biggest and most ambitious expansion yet,” remarked Mike Morhaime, CEO and Co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’ve been floored by the community’s response so far, and we’d like to thank them for their continued passion and support for World of Warcraft, and for helping Cataclysm reach this incredible milestone.”

Following the triumphant expansion in Wrath of the Lich King, this pack was launched across New Zealand, Chile, Europe, Russia, Southeast Asia, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Argentina and the US. Later, the access to the title was unleashed for gamers across Korea as well as the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is now out in stores and can be obtained from the official Battle.net website at the price of 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,804).
