Final Fantasy XIV for Windows PC Release Dates Revealed

Final Fantasy has made quite an impact on the gaming scene with videos games as well as motion pictures, anime and printed media attached to the acclaimed series. Back in June, Square Enix announced a new MMORPG in the acclaimed series. Now the company discloses that Final Fantasy XIV is slated to release on September 30, 2010.

The Final Fantasy XIV Collector’s Edition will however unveil around a week prior to the game’s release on September 22, 2010. A beta phase for the Windows PC is also expected to take place early this month. The standard edition pre-orders include a reward code for exclusive in-game item namely the Garlond Goggles. It also offers free gameplay for 30 days as well as the game disc and manual.

“This September, players around the world will join together to explore the fascinating and exciting realm of Eorzea. We’re presenting players with a new style of online gameplay that we know will please avid fans of online games, while welcoming more casual gamers with a variety of gameplay and story-driven content,” commented Hiromichi Tanaka, Executive Producer of Final Fantasy XIV.

The pre-orders for Collector’s Edition provide gamers with a reward code for the Onion Helm in-game item. In addition to the goodies offered in the standard edition, the title also comprises of a behind-the-scenes documentary DVD that includes exclusive video content and interviews. Players will also receive a branded Security Token, fully-personalized Right of Passage certificate, a travel journal with pages packed with concept art and cover illustrated by artist Yoshitaka Amano.

The Windows PC Standard Edition is priced at 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,327) while the PC Collector’s Edition can be picked up for 74.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,490). After the 30-day free gameplay period, players can avail of a regular 30-day subscription fee of 12.99 USD (approx. Rs. 604). The PS3 version of the game is scheduled to release by early March next year although the pricing is still unclear at this point.
