Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts studio has announced the Return to Britannia Campaign to celebrate the twelfth anniversary of Ultima Online. As part of the Return to Britannia Campaign, all former players are welcomed back to the MMO RPG for unlimited free gameplay, through to October 16, 2009. Certain closed accounts have been re-activated so that former players can log on and play using their original user name and password.
“We’re hoping that, as part of the Return to Britannia Campaign, former players will once again rediscover the joys of Ultima Online,” commented Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer for Mythic Entertainment. “UO was the first love of many MMORPG players, and it still holds a special place in their hearts after 12 glorious years. I think returning players will be pleasantly surprised to find a thriving and vibrant community from around the world ready to welcome back their former compatriots and include them in their ongoing adventures.”
Recently released content includes Mondain’s Legacy, the seventh expansion to Ultima Online, which introduces the playable Elven race and some new dungeons to explore. Earlier this month, the eighth expansion, Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss was released, and it added new regions for players to explore and new boss monsters as well as Player vs. Player zones. Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss is available for 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,440).
