Elder Scrolls V Almost Confirmed, Could Release as a MMO

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is doing great and is up with Gears of War in the list of the top Xbox 360 games. Therefore, the next step would be to make Elder Scrolls V. And that’s what Bethesda is planning to do, but in a couple of years. They are also planning to make Elder Scrolls V as a MMO.

Elder Scrolls V could be a MMOG

According to Pete Hines, VP of PR and marketing, Bethesda, “Well, I can tell you that since Oblivion has been such a smashing success that I’m sure we will do it [Elder Scrolls V], but there are no immediate plans right now. We are finishing up Oblivion then shifting our focus to Fallout 3, which is our next big role-playing game. Certainly, there is a chance, it is something we have talked about, but it is not anywhere in our instantaneous future. I do not think we could do an MMO unless it was with some fresh idea that no one has ever tried before.”

It would be a very positive step to make the next Elder Scrolls as a massively multiplayer online game, but if they really want to do something beautiful, Bethesda should make a cross platform MMO and that’s what most of the MMOGs could be in the future.
