Information related to the Gears of War: Judgment demo has been let out by Microsoft through the official Major Nelson blog. It is slated to be made available via Xbox Live for Gold subscribers on March 19 which is the North American release date for the full game. This limited version will not feature any single-player content, but will instead offer players a chance to jump into the game’s new class-based competitive mode dubbed OverRun.
Moreover, the Gears of War: Judgment demo will even be accessible early to those residing in North America. All these gamers need to do is pre-order the title through GameStop stores or via its online shop to get the demo three days prior to its actual release (on March 15). This deal will also be applicable to those who’ve already placed their pre-orders for the title on Gamestop. In addition, it has been revealed that all the XP earned by players will carry over to the full game if it is bought during the first week of its release.
And that’s not all; every pre-order placed through Gamestop will net in two exclusive multiplayer bonuses as well. First among them is the Young Marcus character skin, while the other one is the Lambent weapon skin which allows gamers to customize select weapons with the emulsion of fallen Lambent enemies. And lastly, all those who pre-order the title from any retailer in the world will have access to the Classic Hammerburst which is an effective weapon that served as the standard-issue assault rifle of the Locust Army.
Announced for the first time in June last year, this game is all set to act as a prequel to the earlier titles. It will have its focus set on events that transpired during the immediate aftermath of Emergence Day, and how they were tackled by the Kilo Squad, consisting of Lt. Damon Baird and Pvt. Augustus Cole. The OverRun multiplayer mode is one of the many online components added to this iteration. It pits Locust and COG soldiers in head-to-head battles, and has players complete numerous different objectives at the same time.
