Dead Rising 3’s multiple endings and other gameplay details explained

Xbox One-exclusive Dead Rising 3 is set to feature up to ten endings, as this third entry to the series to is being built upon the series’ model of branching paths and multiple possibilities. Additionally, details regarding the title’s Overtime mode have also come to the fore through an interview with its producer. Watch the game’s recently released gameplay video in the space below.

Mike Jones, who’s the producer over at Capcom Vancouver has told OXM that ‘somewhere between six and ten’ endings will be possible to be experienced by Dead Rising 3 players. He also added that a number of branching points will result in a ‘significant difference’ to the story and also to whether you’ll be able to play beyond the normal timeline or not. Just like the previous games, Dead Rising is also supposed to comprise of an Overtime mode.

‘So there’s not just the six days, we’re going beyond that if you make the right story decisions,’ Jones said. ‘So it’s not like choose-your-own-adventure crazy infinite endings, there’s a finite amount, but they all [correspond to] meaningful story decisions that you make as you play through.’

Dead Rising 3 is set to reintroduce the series’ trademark survival horror gameplay. Under development from Capcom Vancouver, it will be made available for the Xbox One as a launch game which means it will be out on November 22. It takes place ten years after the events that transpired in Dead Rising 2, and includes single-player as well as co-op content.
