Gears of War: Judgment to contain Free-For-All Mode

Gears of War: Judgment, which is scheduled to arrive in March 2013, will be the first game under the series to ship with a Free-For-All mode. Microsoft and Epic Games have also revealed two new maps that will form part of the title.

Team tactics were a main focus of games from the GoW series till date, but this new mode will for the first time offer deathmatch scenarios. Each player will be fighting for survival against all others in these matches. And it has also come to light that the new mode will be playable at the PAX Prime in Seattle which is all set to commence this weekend.

Gondola is the name of one of the two maps that have been announced for the title. It is set in the Agora foothills, and take place near the Coastal Villa Apartments that form part of the exclusive Halvo community there. The second map is dubbed Library, and is set inside the Alexiy Desipich Memorial Library which is described as an archive of important documents surrounding his life, career and personal interests.

The Free-For-All mode will be accompanied by another fresh mode called OverRun. Unveiled in July this year, the latter is actually a class-based competitive mode that pits the Locust and the COG soldiers against each other in head-to-head battles. Although so much has been disclosed about its multiplayer, we are still to hear some concrete details about the game’s story.

Gears of War: Judgment will be released on March 19, 2013 exclusively for the Xbox 360.
