Microsoft launches Halo 4 in India

Microsoft has launched its biggest and undoubtedly most important game of the year – Halo 4 – in India. The Xbox 360 title will be available starting tomorrow, November 6, 2012 across retail stores in the country, and the good news for the more serious fans of the series in India is that there will be a limited edition of the game as well.

Halo 4

The edition of the series marks the entry of a new developer, 343 Industries, taking control after Bungie separated from Microsoft Game Studios and said its goodbyes at the end of Halo 3. It will allow players to play through the campaign solo or co-op with a buddy in the Spartan Ops mode, and focuses on a new dawn, the Reclaimer Saga, as Master Chief battles an ancient evil.

Also featured in the game will be the Prometheans, an extremely dangerous class of enemy, in terms of the technological advancements they possess. And to further deepen the mystery and present more of a challenge, the Chief must fight his personal demons. The developer says that we’ll see him in a completely new light; a side of him we haven’t seen before; a very human side.

Halo 4 will also be the beginning of another three part masterpiece and take players on an epic sci-fi voyage that Shelly Cooper and his friends will be talking about for seasons to come. In addition, the game offers a multiplayer experience in the form of War Games, whose map pass was announced in October this year. In September, the Grifball mode was revealed for its multiplayer.

We recently touched upon the Competitive Skill Rank (CSR) system which 343i is still working on, and plans to have rolled out early next year. To sum up what the system is about, it is intended to ensure match-making is on a more even keel. But it is not as simple as that and is supposed to take care of a whole range of match-making options.
