New Gears of War Game Confirmed for E3 Debut

We have to admit, this came out of nowhere; a new Gears of War game for the Xbox 360 will be showcased at the upcoming E3. No more content other than a piece of game art is out until now, but Microsoft’s press conference will be where our eyes will be glued come Monday.

New Gears of War Game Art

Game Informer magazine’s official website has opened the lid on this new title by exposing it to be the cover of its July issue. A fresh teaser trailer of the game would also be launched on Monday, the magazine reveals. Well, Epic Games is currently developing Fortnite which had debuted during last year’s Spike Video Game Awards. So, speculation is that the studio might outsource the development of the new Gears title to another creator.

From what can be made out through the art piece we’ve posted above, it seems a certain someone’s hands are tied with chains. And by the looks of it, the certain someone appears to be Marcus Fenix. A quick flashback to the original Gears game reminded us that Fenix’s journey had started out from prison after being extracted by Dom. Could this be a prequel then? It could be, or it could also happen that the game might be based on completely new characters. Hence as of now, nothing can be speculated.

The first GoW title had released way back in 2006 for the Xbox 360, after which it made its way to PC. A second game came in 2008, while a third iteration was launched last year, acting as an end to the trilogy. We have very little details about the new Gears of War game, but what we know is that Microsoft’s E3 press conference is going to prove enlightening, and that’s where we’ll be hooked.
