Ben Heck Draws Up Xbox 360 Disc Changer

Console modder Ben Heck has many console mods under his belt such as the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii laptops, the PS360 controller, a portable NES and more. And keeping alive his habit of coming up with whacky combos, Ben Heck has cropped up with an Xbox 360 disc changer. The device was made by Ben in association with element14.

This invention was unveiled by Ben on his own TV show. The automatic video game disc changer which is aimed at couch potatoes gives them access to multiple discs at a time, ensuing uninterrupted game play.

“Let’s face it – everyone calls us video gamers lazy. Not true, of course. I’m sure it’s just a ‘coincidence’ that this particular build has been one of the more popular requests we’ve gotten for the show Couch potatoes unite!” commented Ben Heck.

The show followed Ben through the whole process of his invention which involved substituting the DVD drive in the Xbox 360 with the changer’s CD player as well as re-designing the apparatus so as to make it work properly.

Kevin Yapp, chief marketing officer, Premier Farnell, had to say about the Ben Heck show, “Modders and gaming enthusiasts alike will enjoy this episode, as it displays Ben’s signature mix of ingenuity and practicality. This episode also commemorates element14’s second birthday, and I’d like to thank the viewers and fans of ‘The Ben Heck Show’ for helping to make the element14 community such a successful collaborative resource.”
