Video Introduction to Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta coming

Halo: Reach is hotly anticipated by gamers and fans of the franchise and Microsoft sends word reminding that the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta will begin on May 3, 2010. The company also reveals that today a video introduction to the beta will be available starring actress Aisha Tyler. In the video she takes you through the new game modes and offers tips and insider hints for each of the maps. She also shows off some life-size ‘Halo’ weaponry.

The video introduction to the beta will be available for viewing exclusively through the Halo 3: ODST game disc. The Halo: Reach multiplayer beta runs from May 3, 2010 to May 19, 2010, and requires the Halo 3: ODST game disc and an internet connection to play.

During the course of the beta, Bungie will be turning on different modes at different times in order to optimize testing. The beta begins with three playlists including the ‘Free-for-All’ and ‘Grab Bag’ playlists and the highly competitive Arena mode. On May 7, 2010 the Spartan vs. Elite ‘Invasion’ playlist will be added to the beta, and on May 14, 2010 the ‘Generator Defense’ game type will be added.

Those who log on and play at least one full game in the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta will receive a free Halo: Reach Avatar hoodie. Additionally, online multiplayer for the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta, Halo 3: ODST and Halo 3 will be free for all Xbox Live members during the Halo Multiplayer Unlock Weekend, which is from May 14 to May 17, 2010.
