Five New Kinect for Xbox 360 Games Revealed by Japanese Creators

Previously, we had brought to light two games namely Yoostar2 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 that were fashioned to exploit the attributes of the upcoming Kinect for Xbox 360. Earlier this month, Microsoft announced a special edition Xbox 360 250GB with Kinect and as the release dates draws near, we see various companies rushing to reveal titles for the same. At the Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft along with acclaimed Japanese storytellers disclosed ten exciting titles out of which five are exclusive Kinect for Xbox 360 games.

Steel Battalion Heavy Armor

Attendees of the TGS were treated to Steel Battalion Heavy Armor and Rise of Nightmares from Capcom and Sega respectively. Steel Battalion Heavy Armor comes to Xbox 360 through the collaborative efforts of Capcom, Microsoft and From Software. The events of the game take place in the year 2082 in Manhattan where all modern technology have become obsolete and the countries are still at war to see who emerges supreme. The American army rolls across New York for the first offensive ground war. Amidst the crossfire of bullets bringing down solider after soldier and scorched bunkers emitting belch black smoke, the army’s Vertical Tanks are seen still rummaging on deeper into battle. Rise of Nightmares brings to the forefront a horror based title that uses the intuitive controls of Kinect for Xbox 360 to instill tension and fear into gamers.

“Microsoft has never been more committed to Japanese developers, the heart of innovative gameplay, thrilling stories and iconic heroes. To date, Japanese games have already grossed more than $2 billion on Xbox 360, and today’s announcements signal tremendous opportunities for Japanese developers to deliver the future of gaming with Kinect,” commented Phil Spencer, corporate vice president for Microsoft Game Studios.

Besides these titles, Microsoft Game Studios has also announced three more games for the Kinect. codename D from Grasshopper Manufacture is fashioned by the creators of No More Heroes series and killer7. Players have to fend off against eerie and fearful creatures strewn all across an evil amusement park. As they take on the role of the controller, gamers can utilize various powerful attacks in order to vanquish foes and objects.

Project Draco is the outcome of Yukio Futatsugi who was at the directing helm of Panzer Dragoon and Phantom Dust. The 3D flying shooter lets players train their dragon in order to aid them in battle. They can also join their friends through Xbox Live to experience all the action together. Haunt is a title from NanaOn-Sha and conceals dark secrets within the confines of a haunted house. Players must steer clear of traps, ghouls and ghosts that are set across the whole plain.

The company hasn’t yet divulged the exact release dates and pricing details of the above mentioned titles.
