Microsoft has shared some information about the sales results of Halo Wars. According to them, Halo Wars has sold more than one million units worldwide making the Xbox 360 exclusive, the best selling real time strategy game of all time on any current generation console. The game has a control system expressly designed for the Xbox 360 controller and its gripping story shows Halo fans the vast extents of the Halo universe.
Halo Wars was released across Asia on February 26, 2009 and then throughout Europe and the Americas and has had a tremendous fan following. To date, more than 2.6 million multiplayer matches have been played by fans of the series and on an average, around two hundred thousand Halo Wars players have fought in battles between the UNSC forces and the Covenant each day. Additionally, more than 118 years of time has been completed in multiplayer matches on Xbox Live.
Microsoft has also said that they are working on much more Halo Wars content which they plan on releasing in the near future. Robot Entertainment, the newly formed studio formed by the veterans of Ensemble Studios, will be working closely with Microsoft to bring you this content.
