B&H Publishing Group is set to release a new Xbox 360 application that is a little different from what you would normally expect to feature on a gaming console. The company announces a new application featuring the complete Holman Christian Standard Bible dubbed as the Bible Navigator X.
According to the company, the new title is the first complete Bible that is accessible on a video game system. The contents of the application include the complete Old and New Testaments while also offering three additional tools.
“This application will bring the Bible into people’s living rooms and onto their televisions in a completely new and innovative way. The Xbox isn’t just secular entertainment anymore. We can use technology that other people developed to study Scriptures through a new medium. Some people are just more comfortable with a controller in their hands than a book,” commented Aaron Linne, B&H Publishing Group’s executive producer of digital marketing.
He further added, “Certainly it’s convenient to be able to quickly pull up a Bible verse on your television at home. But this is also a great tool for youth ministers who teach in youth spaces that already have Xbox consoles in them. It’s a quick way to create teaching aids from equipment you already have.”
The tools include a basic search function which possesses similar functions to that of a concordance. Another tool featured in the application is a bookmarking function which aids in marking passages. It also helps in reorganizing those bookmarks which users can utilize for teaching or study.
There is also a presentation mode which includes a larger display apt for projecting onto a screen. Through the 10 themes featured in the Bible Navigator X, users will be able to personalize the appearance of the Holy Book keeping the readability intact. Among the themes is one based on LifeWay’s Fuge Camps which is aimed at students.
Bible Navigator X can be downloaded via the Indie Games channel for Xbox 360 and is priced at $5 (approx. Rs.231) or 400 Microsoft Points.
