Some time ago we reported that the re-envisioning of the first Silent Hill title, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories had been revealed for the Wii, PSP and PS2. Now Konami has revealed the official street date and character details for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The game for the Nintendo Wii will be made available on December 8, 2009, with the PS2 and PSP versions to follow shortly after.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories on the Wii will deliver a brand new interface, all-new storylines and a heap of terrifying new gameplay features. The game begins in a similar manner as the original, with Harry Mason searching for his daughter, making his way through the snowy streets of the haunted town of Silent Hill. There he encounters a cast of unique characters.
This time around players are only equipped with a cell phone and a flash light, with which they must solve puzzles, acquire information and navigate the world while escaping from the game’s many demons. The game also features a psych-profiling system to analyze players and adjust itself to their actions, transforming the game into the most customizable and terrifying survival horror title to date.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories features Harry Mason, who while driving his car, skids off the icy roads of Silent Hill and his daughter Cheryl goes missing. He sets out in the cold, dark night to find her. Cybil Bennett has spent years on the police force and finds something strange about Harry. She decides to keep a close watch on him and their paths cross quite often in the game. Shattered Memories also features Dr. K, a friendly therapist who keeps popping up to evaluate players, putting them through interactive psychological tests.
Besides these characters the game features Michelle, who decides to help Harry in his quest for his daughter, Dahlia, a young girl who seems to know quite a lot about Harry, and Lisa, a young and experienced nurse at Alchemilla Hospital.
