Kameo: Elements of Power is the action adventure video game from developer Rare. The game was released in 2005 exclusively for the Microsoft Xbox 360 video game console. Now according to report by computer and video games website CVG, a sequel to Kameo was in development with Rare, but has subsequently been cancelled due to an apparent company-wide restructure to switch focus to Microsoft’s Project Natal.
The website’s source also said that there were other factors which contributed to the sequel getting canned, one of them being the disappointing launch sales of the 2005 video game for the Xbox 360. Now as Microsoft is pushing for its new controller-free gaming technique, Project Natal, which is supposed to revolutionize the way we game, it seems that other projects are getting the axe. A sequel to Kameo seems to be just one such project.
The UK based studio is owned by Microsoft; and this piece of news is still to be labeled a rumour as there has been no official confirmation from Microsoft.
