Last week, we had reported that a Halo game would be unveiled at this year’s TGS. Well, they have done something like that! At the Tokyo Games Show 2008, Microsoft has unveiled Halo 3: Recon. It is a stand-alone expansion, which Microsoft claims will enlarge the Halo 3 experience.
Halo 3: Recon will feature an interesting side story and is set during the events that lead up to Master Chief’s return to New Mombasa in Halo 3. Though no Master Chief, you can expect the special forces ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper). As the moniker suggests, gamers will have to make use of more elements of stealth and cunning.
The Hell Jumpers are known for their courage, valor and, on occasion, insanity. Gamers can expect an expanded multiplayer collection as there will be exclusive new maps and full Forge options. Features like saved films, screenshots, Campaign Scoring and four-player co-op are there in Halo 3: Recon. The shooter’s multiplayer maps will have full support for the Forge editor.
Halo 3: Recon is being developed by Bungie and will be published by Microsoft Game Studios. Microsoft has said that they game has been developed exclusively for the Xbox 360. Halo 3: Recon is expected to release in the Fall season of 2009.
