Console gamers in India are anxiously waiting for the XBOX 360 to be launched in India. But will that ever happen? Microsoft dashed everyone’s hopes by not launching Xbox in India, does the same fate await Xbox 360 as well.
Well here is some interesting news that caught our attention. Microsoft, Country Manger Mohit Anand in an interview to IBNLive said that “India is a key gaming market and there is no doubt about it. Yes, the product will come, its just a question of time,”.
Mohit Anand suggested that Microsoft is seriously considering a post-budget launch OF Xbox 360 in India.
“We are now building that relationship – we are building channels through our pc games business. Also VAT needs to become pervasive. Duties on gaming consoles are humongous and another key element is broadband,” Anand said
Anand said that it may take around 12 to 18 months for Xbox 360 to be launched in India but it could even be sooner than that.
It looks like everyone will probably have his/her own Xbox 360 console through the grey market by the time Microsoft’s finally makes ups its mind on launching it “Offcially”.
