Ouya Controller

Like most of us know, OnLive is a platform of cloud-based gaming which enables players to stream high-end titles on even the most basic of PCs as well as modern TVs, tablets and smartphones, provided the Internet connection is fast enough. For now, OnLive users require its own wireless controller and a console, but with the upcoming Ouya, the need for the same will be eliminated. This cloud gaming platform boats of ‘hundreds of playable’ titles from noted publishers. These include the likes of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Batman: Arkham City, BioShock and more.

Meanwhile, the controller of this console has made its official debut. The makers have mentioned however that this design is still in progress and the final outcome may be different. The wireless controller holds a basic layout with two handles and a standard configuration of analog sticks. Apparently at its center, it also bears a touchpad. About its buttons, the maker of the console has disclosed that the colored circles are subject to change, as colorblind gamers will be taken under consideration during the final designing process.

The Ouya Android-based console, which will be about the size of a Rubik’s cube, is being developed as a 99 USD (approx. Rs. 5,500) system which will come complete with its own development kit for gamers to create their own titles. And the support for OnLive cloud gaming just adds all the more value to the entire product. It’s still unclear as to when the console will be released.
