Xbox 360 Chrome Series Controllers Releasing This May

Blue, red and silver are the three colors in which the newly unveiled Xbox 360 Chrome Series controllers will be made available by Microsoft. These devices would feature the transforming D-pad, and will all be released during the mid of May. And according to a post on the Major Nelson blog, their color availabilities will differ with the regions they’ll be sold in.

The transforming D-pad of the controller allows gamers to convert it from a plus to a disc for added precision, accuracy and control. Being wireless, these devices will come equipped with the 2.4GHz wireless technology which is able to proffer a 30-foot range. Moreover, they will even kick in an integrated headset port for Xbox Live play.

Larry Hryb, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson, wrote on the blog, “Today we’re announcing the Xbox 360 Special Edition Chrome Series Wireless Controllers. Available in Blue, Red and Silver these controllers also feature the transforming D-pad. The controllers will have an estimated retail price of 54.99 USD each and will be available mid-May. Color availability will vary by region, so please check your local retailer for specific information or visit xbox.com/accessories for more details.”

These controllers also offer adjustable vibration feedback for longer battery life. Along with all the traits that we’ve mentioned above, standard attributes that are present on all Xbox 360 controllers will also be proffered with these products. These include compatibility for up to four controllers simultaneously on one console.

Xbox 360 Chrome Series controllers will be launched in mid-May, 2012, with their prices tagged at 54.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,780) each.
