WRC 3 Announced for October, 2012

The third official video game of the 2012 FIA World Rally Championship is all revved up to be released on multiple platforms in October this year. Under development by Milestone, this game is said to mark a ‘radical’ departure from the previous titles, with it using wholly new graphics and a fresh game engine this time around.

The title will come equipped with all the rallies that are scheduled to take place in the 2012 WRC calendar. Moreover, each and every leading WRC team and driver will be available to play in the new career mode. The game’s brand new graphics engine is called the Spikengine, and it has been developed in-house. It is claimed to have helped the developer in bridging this offering on all relevant platforms.

Furthermore, the engine has apparently allowed Milestone to accurately model lighting, particle effects and other real-world characteristics in order to create an in-game virtual reality. The developer has also updated ‘every’ aspect of the game, to provide players with the complete rally driving experience right at their homes. More than fifty official WRC teams, as well as Class 2 and Class 3 series will form part of the game. And then there are also a number of Super Special Stages for players to jump into.
