Nintendo 3DS Gets Midnight Purple Variant

Nintendo fans might have marked May 20 to be the release date of Mario Tennis Open, but there’s something more hitting stores on that day too – a Nintendo 3DS splashed with a new shade called midnight purple. This device will join a lineup of four other colors that the 3DS comes dipped in within the US, and will retail at the same price as them.

Upon its launch in March last year, this handheld was made available in just two colors, namely cosmo black and aqua blue. In September 2011, we saw the device being doled out in a flame red shade, just days after the 3DS was endowed with a huge price cut of 80 USD (approx. Rs. 4,215). It was only recently that a pearl pink model of the handheld was launched for the US and UK, while the latter territory even received an ice white color.
