Owners of the Thrustmaster T500 RS accessory will soon be able to upgrade their peripheral with the Ferrari F1 wheel add-on that looks to turn it into a replica of the Ferrari 150° Italia racing wheel. Meant only for the PS3 and PC, this accessory can apparently be attached to the T500 RS base in a ‘few seconds.’
The add-on is said to be a life-size replica of the racing wheel that features on the Ferrari 150° Italia. It is equipped with a scratch-brushed reinforced metal facing alongside scratch-brushed metal F1 Push and Pull sequential shifters and rubber-textured grips. Gamers can also make precision adjustments according to their racing styles by using the built-in rotary knobs, switches and action buttons.
Two rotary encoder switches are offered by this attachment, thus allowing direct and on-the-track customization of the car’s race settings. Moreover, eight push-buttons, each with a 6.5 N dual-detent pressure, also make their way onto this add-on along with three 4.5 N metal switches, two 2.5 N 8-directional D-Pads and two up/down shifters.
For the PS3 and PC, all these features will be compatible in normal mode, but an advanced mode that offers enhanced functions is only accessible through PC. For the Ferrari F1 wheel add-on to function properly, a T500 RS firmware update, which is supposed to go live on Thrustmaster’s website, will be required. TheT500 RS was released early this year and is now available for purchase at a price of 562.39 USD (approx Rs. 27,599).
On the other hand the Ferrari F1 wheel add-on will be launched by Thrustmaster in early October and will retail at a 199.99 USD (approx Rs. 9,814).
