The launch of the 9-series cards has been eagerly awaited by the PC gamers in India. Now graphics card manufacturer XFX has sent word that they have introduced the GeForce 9600 GT in India. This makes them the first firm to do so. The card is derived from next-generation GeForce graphics with PureVideo HD technology that enables Blu-ray as well as HD DVD video playback with great clarity.
The GeForce 9600 GT has DirectX 10 support as well as the NVIDIA’s Quantum Effects technology along with the Lumenex engine and the Unified Architecture. Though the standard heart has a core speed of 650 MHz, the XFX overclocked versions, that is, the Extreme and XXX editions have a core speed of 680 MHz and 700 MHz respectively. The XFX 9600 GT is HDMI capable. In fact, the 9600 GT XXX edition comes with a component kit and Company of Heroes DVD.
The Geforce 9600 GT graphics card has been developed keeping in mind the bandwidth-hungry video games and 3D applications.
NVIDIA’s SLI Technology will enable the users to combine this card with a similar 9600-based card. Gaming is not the only forte that the GeForce 9600 GT can boast about. Users will be able to take care of other tasks like sharing, editing and managing photos and videos. 9600 GT also features the Dual duallink DVI support that allows it to drive the highest resolution flat-panel displays up to 2560×1600. And yes, there is the High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) too.
Graphics cards from NVIDIA have always been expensive. This one is no different! The XFX GeForce 9600 GT has an estimated street price of Rs 13,990. But it does come with a three year warranty. The graphics card is available with Rashi Peripherals and its nationwide branches across India.
