Jen-Hsun Huang, President & CEO, NVIDIA says, “The AGEIA team is world class, and is passionate about the same thing we are—creating the most amazing and captivating game experiences. By merging the teams that created the world’s most pervasive GPU and physics engine brands, we can now bring GeForce-accelerated PhysX to hundreds of millions of gamers around the world.”

Huang also mentioned that the computer industry is moving towards a heterogeneous computing model. It means that they are coalescing GPUs to carry out computationally intensive applications like real-time computer graphics. In fact, NVIDIA’s CUDA technology is turning out to be the most enveloping parallel programming environment in history.

However, AGEIA’s acquisition by NVIDIA remains subject to customary closing conditions. The PhysX software is used in more than 140 games that have been shipped or are being developed for the PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and the PC platforms. There are more than 10,000 registered and active users of the PhysX SDK.
