Digimon Survive’s Latest Trailer Showcases Gameplay

Digimon Survive

Much delayed tactical battle game Digimon Survive will be arriving later this month, and Bandai Namco has dropped a new trailer ahead of that. It offers us a glimpse at everything the game will include aside from the ability to pit powerful digital monsters against one another in battle.

Digimon Survive “blends visual novel storytelling with tactical battle elements,” says the narrator in the new trailer. It explains how the world map has been divided into different territories and how scanning glitches in the surroundings can help players get clues or useful items.

Being a JRPG, it has plenty of role-playing elements. Every choice you make within the game can affect your Karma, Affinity, and Digivolutions. Moreover, talking with in-game friends during its turn-based battles can also yield various positive effects.

That’s not all; Digimon Survive players can even bring a positive impact on the gameplay by conversing with the enemy. The game will feature multiple endings and should wrong choices be made, characters could end up being killed.

As was revealed previously, Digimon Survive includes multiple types of gameplay. The Drama Parts segments will present it as a text adventure to tell the story, while the Search Actions segments will ask players to look for ways to survive.

Another type of gameplay is Free Action in which players will choose where to go and whom to talk to during a limited window of time. And then there’s the Free Battle type, where you can enter certain areas to train your Digimon and collect items.

Digimon Survive was first announced in 2018 and after multiple delays, is now all set to release for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 29.
