The story of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is focused on Davion, the Dragon Knight from Dota 2. The series will also include agility hero, Mirana who rides a tiger and is able to cloak allies and herself with invisibility.

The show’s official blurb reads, “The upcoming fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”

Hollywood screenwriter and producer Ashley Edward Miller will act as showrunner for DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, while South Korean animation house Studio MIR is helming the development. It is to be noted that Studio MIR is also currently working on the animated film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, which will tell the origin story of Geralt’s mentor, Vesemir.

Dota 2 was released in 2013 and still remains one of the top played games on Steam. It has been a free-to-play offering since its launch, with Valve choosing the loot box and battle pass model for making money.
