Super Mario fans have since long been asking for a LEGO set dedicated to the series, and their calls have finally been paid heed to. Nintendo has announced that a specially designed LEGO set will be released later this year, featuring an interactive Mario figurine that comes with its own speaker as well as a tiny screen. A video showcasing this set has also been released, and can be spotted in the space below.
As can be seen in the clip, the Super Mario figure can be used to collect coins in a real-life game level that has been created with LEGO bricks. This Bluetooth-equipped statuette utters all the familiar catchphrases that have been associated with the extremely popular character. The tiny screens on its eyes, allow it to change its expressions, while the one its belly displays stats like the number of coins and the amount of time left.

More details about the LEGO Super Mario set will be made available closer to its launch later this year.
