Samsung launches Game Recorder+ app for shooting your mobile gameplay

Among all the big giants who are showcasing their games at this year’s E3, there stands an unlikely attendant of the gaming show in form of Samsung. The South Korean giant has come up with an app called Game Recorder+ which serves the same purpose that a DVR or software like Fraps do for mainstream titles, but on mobile devices.

Sure there are a ton of screen recording apps available out there for smartphones, but Samsung’s offering provides a number of additional features that distinguish it from the others. Game Recorder+ is capable of capturing game sound directly from the device, but it cannot be used for recording anything other than games.

However, the main highlight of this Samsung offering definitely has to be its ability to let you use your front-facing camera and built-in microphone to record your commentary over the game audio. That’s a pretty sweet PC-grade feature to take advantage of.

Most will be disappointed to know that this application has only been designed to work with select Samsung smartphones as of now. These include the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge, the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 2. Moreover, the app cannot be downloaded by those residing in Europe and South Korea.

If you have a compatible device, you can head over to the Google Play store in order to download Game Recorder+ on it for free.
