Plants vs. Zombies Gets Major Update on iOS

PopCap Games’ iconic tower defense action title, Plants vs. Zombies has been blessed with a big update that is live now for the iOS versions of the game. It is available for the HD iPad version as well as for the iPhone and iPod touch edition.

Gamers who already own the title will be able to download these updates at no cost. And while some of the newly added content is completely free, the remaining content will need to be purchased using the in-game currency which can either be earned through gameplay or purchased via micro-transaction. For the iPad version of the title, the update adds three new modes, four fresh mini-games, enhanced support for Game Center leaderboards with twenty eight new achievements and additional coin packs.

Tony Leamer, franchise business director at PopCap, explained, “These exciting Plants vs. Zombies updates deliver all the extras that players have been waiting for, and more. Zen Garden looks amazing on the iPad and players will have a blast digging in, tending to their plants and experimenting with great new ways to take out zombies.”

The iPhone and iPod touch version on the other hand, receives pretty less content as compared to the iPad. Just one new game mode is on offer in the form of Vasebreaker which includes eight Vasebreaker levels and Vasebreaker Endless. Game Center support gets enhanced too, and four fresh Game Center achievements also make their way into the title.

Although these additions go for free to all those who own Plants vs. Zombies on their iOS devices, the updated version can now be purchased at 5.49 Euros (approx. Rs. 375) and 2.39 Euros (approx. Rs. 165) for the iPad and iPhone/iPod touch, respectively.
