Battlefield: Bad Company 3 and Mirror’s Edge 2 Spotted on Online Resumes

It’s been over 2 years since we first jumped into the bullet frenzy of Battlefield: BC 2, and more than 3 years since we first experienced the parkour brilliance of Faith Connors, and hence the possible existence of Battlefield: Bad Company 3 and Mirror’s Edge 2 has got us all excited. The speculation surrounding both these titles was sparked off owing to their mentions on a number of LinkedIn profiles of people who’ve worked with EA DICE.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Gamerzines was first to spot these resumes, one of which is of Michael Joseph C., who claims to have ‘provided video game prototype, design and demo feedback’ for titles like Battlefield: Bad Company 3, Dead Space 2, Devil May Cry 5 and other unannounced games between 2009 and 2011. And then there’s the resume of an ex-EA Software Engineer which states that he worked on Mirror’s Edge 2 between July and August 2009, to implement ‘the wandering of crowd system within Unreal3 engine.’

This sounds a bit strange, because DICE had its proprietary Frostbite engine working for it during that time. One more hint about the game was given by another one of EA’s ex-employees. His resume pointed out that he was implementing ‘new gadgets and interactive features’ into the Mirror’s Edge sequel. These include ‘leaderboards’ and a ‘mini-game.’

Mirror's Edge

Battlefield: BC 2 was released in March 2010 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and managed to grab an Overall score of 8.5/10 in our review. A host of DLC has been launched for the game since then. The original Mirror’s Edge was first outed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2008, following which it made its way to PC the following year. We had pegged it at 8.5/10 in our review.
