After having released on iOS, Max Payne Mobile – the portable version of the original game, will be seen launching for Android devices on June 14, 2012. Rockstar Games has optimized this title for the Android OS, and the developer has also infused it with HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity, user-customizable controls and gamepad support for USB controllers.
Only a selected number of devices have been revealed by the developer to be completely compatible with the game. The list of smartphones includes the Motorola Razr, Razr Maxx, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid Bionic, HTC Rezound, HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Droid Incredible 2, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung S2, Samsung Galaxy R, Sony Xperia Play, Sony Xperia S and the Sony Walkman Z Series Media Player.
Furthermore, the title will also be playable on selected tablets. These count in the Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Medion Lifetab, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9/10.1, Sony Tablet S, Sony Tablet P, Toshiba Thrive, HTC Flyer and the HTC Jetstream. Devices other than these are not guaranteed by the studio to run the game appropriately.
This title was also released for iOS through the App Store in April, and the Android version which was slated to be out in the same month has suffered a delay. The original game was launched way back in 2001, and has received two sequels, with the latest of them being Max Payne 3 which managed to grab an Overall score of 9/10 in our review of it.
Max Payne Mobile will arrive for Android devices on June 14. It will sell on the Google Play Store at a price of 2.99 USD (approx. Rs. 265).
