The Angry Birds Star Wars release date has been revealed by Rovio, letting us know that new game under its famed franchise will be launched worldwide for multiple platforms on November 8, 2012. This game marriage between the extremely popular gaming series and the legendary movies by Lucasfilm is said to combine elements of Angry Birds and its Space iteration with the characters, stories and settings of Star Wars.
Along with the game, also comes the announcement of a merchandise partnership which will feature the birds dressed up as iconic characters from the film saga. This will include the launch of Halloween costumes, apparel, action figures, collectible plush toys and more. The merchandise will be doled out through retailers starting this month itself, on October 28. And Rovio has also dosclised that the coming weeks will see additional new videos, characters and other fresh content being revealed by it.
This game was revealed on Saturday by a teaser image let out by its developer through its official Twitter page. Subsequent scavenging for more information revealed an Amazon.de listing of a Jenga game which is part of the above mentioned merchandise. It has revealed that the Red Bird will play Luke Skywalker, while the Yellow Bird will don’t he role of Han Solo. And Chewbacca will be played Big Brother Bird. Angry Birds Star Wars is all set to be launched on November 8 for Android, iOS, Amazon Kindle Fire, PC, Mac, Windows Phone and Windows 8.
