Once established in the U.K. and Ireland, Netflix subscribers will be able to ‘instantly’ watch TV content using the internet. In 2008, it was announced by Microsoft that Xbox 360 users will be provided with this service on the console, thus allowing them to stream movies and TV shows directly from their Netflix Instant Queue. Then in November 2009, Netflix made its way to the PS3 with the same setup as above. A free app is now available on PSN, which can be used to stream TV content by paying the necessary subscription charges.

It was in 2010 that Netflix arrived on the Wii. Initially, a streaming disc was used besides a subscription, but soon an app was launched through the Wii Shop Channel. In contrast to the other two consoles, the Wii is not capable if HD resolutions, hence rendering slightly unfinished visuals. Recently, the service was released as an application for the Nintendo 3DS which allows streaming of select 3D content exclusively on the handheld. A free system update is required to be downloaded by fans to start using the service.

In the U.S., a one month Netflix membership retails at 7.99 USD (approx. Rs. 397). Pricing for the same in the U.K. and Ireland will be announced by the company ‘closer to launch.’
