Bungie and Activision have announced that they have agreed on an exclusive 10-year partnership to bring Bungie’s next big action game universe to market. According to the agreement Activision will have the exclusive worldwide rights to publish as well as distribute all future Bungie games across multiple platforms and devices. These games in question will be based on a new intellectual property while Bungie will remain an independent company and continue to own the rights to its IP.

This alliance between the two companies marks the first time Bungie is in a partnership since its departure from Microsoft in 2007. The partnership will also help Bungie widen its global reach, since it will help the company develop, distribute, and release games worldwide on multiple platforms. In turn, Activision will broaden its own portfolio with a new IP from one of the industry’s most creative and successful studios.
