We just heard Electronic Arts announce that NHL 11 would include the teams and players featured in the CHL. Now EA has revealed a publishing agreement with independent publisher Insomniac Games which will bring the studio’s all-new franchise to the PS3 as well as the Xbox 360. This will be the first multi-platform release from Insomniac Games known for its Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, and Spyro the Dragon franchises.
Insomniac Games’ new franchise hasn’t been given a name yet and is in production at the company’s Burbank studio. The title will be published through the EA Partners program and will mark the introduction of a completely new universe from the developer.
“Working with EA Partners allows us to extend the reach of our games to a multiplatform audience while retaining ownership of the intellectual property,” Ted Price, founder and CEO of Insomniac Games commented. “We are excited and eager to introduce Insomniac to a new group of gamers while reinforcing to our loyal fans what makes our games special.”

No release frame for the new franchise has been revealed.
