Expanding its presence in the content rental space, Blockbuster has recently enveloped new offerings in the Blockbuster By Mail service. The rental service will now allow players to choose from amongst 3,000 games for their Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii. Promising to deliver games at subscribers’ doorsteps, the company claims that players can rent games, movies and TV shows with a single subscription.
“The addition of games for our Blockbuster By Mail customers – from families looking for entertainment experiences they can enjoy together, to serious gamers – is yet another convenient way to access entertainment content from Blockbuster,” explained Kevin Lewis, Senior Vice-President, Digital Entertainment. “This enhanced offering supports Blockbuster’s multichannel strategy and shows our commitment to being the leading provider of home entertainment content.”
Gamers who sign up for this service can order titles which need not be returned till the end of the subscription period. Subscribers will not be required to pay a late fee or other charges. In addition, they can rent several games at a time by opting for this plan. The company has announced that players can place orders for games through Blockbuster online employing the queue used for movie content.
Those who wish to subscribe for the service will have to pay monthly fees of about 8.99 USD (approx. Rs. 418). Players can order for numerous games and other content through Blockbuster By Mail without paying additional charges.
