Executive producer of Dead Space Extraction, Steve Papoutsis stated, “There is so much more to the Dead Space universe than we could ever fit into one game and we’re excited to be working with Image Comics again to extend the story in Dead Space Extraction. Ben and Antony did such a tremendous job with the original comic, we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on this special issue.”

The Dead Space Extraction comic book picks up the videogame’s story midway and adds a new spin to the storyline. The comic showcases a brave group of colonists who battle against terrifying necromorphs while on a quest to find a cure for the infection. Apart from the comic, fans will be able to get their hands on Dead Space collectibles such as Dead Space art books, Isaac Clarke Unitology figurine and iPhone skins available at the EA Comic-con booth. Additionally, gamers can catch the Dead Space Extraction development team participating in the ‘Art of Making a Horror Video Game’ panel at the convention.

The comic will likely be available in retail stores sometime this September for a suggested retail price of USD 3.00 (approx. Rs. 145). A limited edition featuring exclusive cover art will be available USD 2.00 (approx. Rs. 95) at the EA Comic-con booth number 5123. Dead Space Extraction is a Wii exclusive title currently under development by Visceral Studios. It will ship out to stores on September 29, 2009 in North America and on October 2, 2009 in Europe. Information about the price points has not been revealed.
