Mobile Halo Project Revealed by Microsoft Job Listing?

The Halo franchise has been around for many years, and has gone very far since its launch in 2001. Now Joystiq is reporting that Microsoft has posted a job opening for a Halo project on an online job site.

Halo

Microsoft is apparently looking to expand the Halo franchise by enlisting someone who loves Halo and loves “building scalable online infrastructure & websites for large and passionate audiences”. Recently Microsoft partnered with DK to release a Halo Encyclopedia.

“We’re looking to blend console, web, and mobile to create an immersive Halo world that follows the dedicated Halo fan wherever they go. We need engineers that can build connected technology while working in a startup environment,” the post reads.

From the job description it seems Microsoft is planning to extend the Halo 3 and Bungie.net community features to the mobile platform. Microsoft is casting its net for candidates with 5 years of C or C++ professional experience, strong networking skills, strong debugging and optimization skills, experience with services and web development and experience with the Xbox 360 networking APIs.

Also, it could be very possible that Microsoft releases its mobile application, whatever that may be, only for phones running Windows Mobile.
