Konami makes great games and gamers love them. But there is one thing that gamers have hated Konami for! That thing is the Konami ID that has been used in Metal Gear Online, which is basically the complex registration system. Now Hideo Kojima too says that the idea wasn’t a good one.
In an interview with 1UP, Hideo Kojima explained, “Honestly, officially, I can’t say anything on Konami ID and Game ID. It’s a company policy. But frankly speaking, the idea wasn’t a very good one. The fact is that Konami’s direction was that we create a Game ID and Konami ID for the online components, and now we’re seeing that it’s not working so well, and we have to think about how to turn it around. It was a concept of an online Konami group thinking, so there’s not much I could do at the time.”
Kojima further assured that Konami does understand the problems and they look at the figure and see what is going wrong. He also said that as a company they have to turn things around. Besides the Konami ID system, Hideo Kojima spoke on his future projects and said that we would like to make something new.
