Beauty Tips by Nintendo and Konami

I knew Nintendo was targeting a global audience by bringing in female gamers, but the recent bit of software for the DS released by Konami seems to be over exaggerating the fact.

Dream Skincare Launch

“Dream Skincare” was recently shown in Tokyo, the software is supposed to give sound advice to female users about following a healthy regime, users input their daily body temperature and weight by marking a graph that shows up on the touch panel, according to Konami Corp, which made the software.

The “beauty navigation software”, as the company describes it, asks questions that the player answers such as skin tone and smoothness, as well as exposure to sunlight and hours of sleep. This piece of eccentric software is being promoted by Chizu Saeki, a beauty expert. The software is also supposed to prompt females on “Womanly manners” and conduct. The software goes on sale in October in Japan for 4,500 yen ($37 or Rs. 1480).

I actually took some time to type the above bit of the article for I really did not know how to present the whole thing. I always knew the Japanese culture was something beyond my grasp but this just overshot through my teeny weenie brain modules. The only bit that did not come as a stark shocker was the developer. Hey, Konami has managed to keep Snake alive and ticking for nearly 20 years now and he has shown sparse signs of ageing.

Maybe Konami has included beauty secrets by the cast of the Metal Gear Solid; expect to see a full fledged sequel drop onto the Wii after its tremendous success with regular updates via the Mii-channel.
