Halo Infinite Gets Winter Contingency Event

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite has entered the holiday spirit with its Winter Contingency event that’s live now with various rewards. This free event is set to be available till January 4 and has a total of ten rewards that are waiting to be claimed.

As pointed out by Halo Waypoint, these rewards won’t all be available to be grabbed on day one. They will be unlocked over time, with one getting unlocked every day. This means that all the daily rewards will be over by December 30 and that will leave a few extra days for you to collect any items that you may have missed.

The armor and weapon set that you can win is called the ‘Peppermint Laughter’ set. Following the end of the Winter Contingency event, the Fracture: Tenrai event will go live again bearing better rewards and more free in-game cosmetics than in its initial run.

In a major departure from usual practice, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer portion was made available as a free-to-play offering by Microsoft. Developed by 343 Industries, it was released on November 15, while the campaign was made available on December 8.

That still isn’t the entire game though. The co-op campaign feature which has been a staple of the Halo series since the start has been reserved for a 2022 release. The same goes for its Forge mode, which allows gamers to design their own maps and game types in a creative environment.

Halo Infinite’s campaign is set in the year 2560 after the events that transpired in Halo 5: Guardians. This time around, Master Chief has been forced to embark on a mission to neutralize Cortana, his former partner.

You can start playing Halo Infinite multiplayer on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC now to experience its Winter Contingency event.
