Season 4 update spices up Call of Duty: Warzone with mid-game events

Call of Duty: Warzone

Infinity Ward has announced the release of the Season 4 patch for Call of Duty: Warzone that can be downloaded right now. This release is a whopping 85GB in size and is aimed at introducing Captain Price as an operator while adding events that can take place during a match in the battle royale mode. This update even comes equipped with a new Contraband contract system and a team deathmatch mode called Warzone Rumble.

But the main focus is, of course, on the mid-game events that’ll occur after the first drop kit and before the Gulag closes. These can happen in any battle royale match without advance notice. One of the three such events is called Jailbreak, and it involves the release of players who have been eliminated, even if you were waiting for your 1v1 in the Gulag. The second such event is called A Fire Sale, and it applies temporary discounts to most items at the Buy Station and even provides some items for free. The final such event is Supply Chopper, which introduces a non-lethal but heavily armored helicopter to the map.

About the new Contraband contract system, the folks over at Infinity Ward had to say, “Contraband is a new, rare contract with a permanent Blueprint Reward. Contraband contracts have a chance to spawn after a previous contract is completed. If you see the Contraband briefcase, hurry up and collect it. Once you have it, take it to the designated Helicopter Extraction location to call in the helicopter. The player carrying the briefcase must deposit it into the helicopter drop-bag to complete the mission. If you kill a player carrying this briefcase you can steal it complete the contract for your team. Be on the lookout for them on your Tac Map!”

Call of Duty: Warzone was released in March this year, as a free-to-play battle royale game that allows online multiplayer combat among 150 players.
